ARCA di santARCAngelo

ARCA di santARCAngelo is a public art project launched in 2020 to stimulate the cultural vibrancy of Santarcangelo during the restrictive period caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The project was created with the aim of systematizing initiatives focused on the theme of landscape, through a continuous dialogue between resources and tradition, territory and community. Art thus became a meaningful tool in a shared creative space, engaging the community in reflections on public space through the lens of contemporary expression. Street art and land art were the chosen languages to rebuild the essential connection between the local citizens and the cultural institutions of the Municipality of Santarcangelo. By stepping outside traditional venues, these institutions met the community in everyday spaces of interaction.

Among the notable works realized: “Disegno d’esame” (Exam Drawing), a large mural on the M. Pascucci Elementary School, created in 2021 by artist Agostino Iacurci, dedicated to Federico Moroni and his work Arte per nulla. In 2022, artist Gola Hundun created “Oltre la primavera silenziosa” (Beyond the Silent Spring), a project inspired by the relationship between humans and nature, combining mural painting and urban furniture.
The work was installed in the courtyard of the Ethnographic Museum, transforming its storage facility into a space of coherence and continuity with the surrounding context.

The project is curated by Focus, with the support of the Municipality of Santarcangelo di Romagna and the Emilia-Romagna Region.
