Votes for Women! is a project by Focus, launched in 2016 with the aim of moving beyond the clichés of International Women’s Day and celebrating the female figure in an innovative way—by opening up dialogue with women and about women.

It offers a way to mark International Women’s Day by exploring femininity in culture and society, delving into its history and sharing the female perspective on the world.

Since 2021—after the 2020 edition was skipped due to the pandemic—Votes for Women! has become a brand that identifies all female-focused initiatives promoted by the Municipality of Santarcangelo. The logo, created by street artist Gio Pistone (www.giopistone.it), who also designed the key visual for the 2021 edition, is inspired by the goddess Diana—an archetype representing women’s strength, their fight for self-realization and independence, and their tenacity in defending the vulnerable.

In addition to the event calendar for the month of March, the new logo now marks all gender equality initiatives held throughout the year in the Municipality of Santarcangelo.
