A bridge between cultures for the creative development of the community
Focus – Fondazione Culture Santarcangelo manages the cultural institutions and events programming of the Municipality of Santarcangelo di Romagna. It serves as a key operational hub with a mission to protect heritage and promote the cultural development of the local area.
Its activities range from research and continuous updates to museum exhibits—to make them accessible to an increasingly broad and diverse audience—to the creation of in-depth cultural programs in the library, as well as the design and development of public space projects: event programming, artistic interventions, and the promotion of the Valmarecchia area and landscape.
Focus was established in 2007 as a participatory foundation initiated by the Municipality of Santarcangelo and the Province of Rimini. Since its inception, it has owned the Supercinema building and manages it in partnership with the Santarcangelo dei Teatri association. In May 2012, Focus took charge of the Municipality’s cultural institutions: MUSAS – the Historical and Archaeological Museum, which tells the story of the territory from antiquity to the present day; MET – the Ethnographic Territorial Museum, which preserves the memory of the Romagna rural world; Baldini Library, with its rich archival holdings and services for students and citizens.
That same year, the Valle del Marecchia Union of Municipalities entrusted the foundation with the management of the CET – Territorial Educating Community, which still promotes educational and training projects for students, teachers, and families.
Focus nasce nel 2007 come Fondazione di partecipazione voluta dal Comune di Santarcangelo e dalla Provincia di Rimini. Da allora detiene la proprietà della struttura del Supercinema e ne realizza la gestione attraverso un partenariato con l’Associazione Santarcangelo dei teatri. Da maggio del 2012 ha preso in carico gli Enti culturali del Comune: il MUSAS – Museo Storico Archeologico, che presenta un racconto del territorio, dall’antichità al contemporaneo; il MET – Museo Etnografico Territoriale, che raccoglie la memoria del mondo contadino romagnolo; la Biblioteca Baldini, con il suo patrimonio di fondi e i servizi per studenti e cittadini. Lo stesso anno l’Unione dei Comuni Valle del Marecchia ha affidato alla Fondazione la gestione della CET – Comunità Educante Territoriale che tutt’ora promuove progetti educativi e di formazione per studenti, docenti e famiglie.
Since January 2015, Focus has also overseen the planning of public events for the Municipality of Santarcangelo, including: the Christmas and New Year festivities (LòMM, New Year in one square kilometre), the summer programs in the town center and its hamlets (Sferisterio, MeeT, FrazionCINE), and contemporary art paths in public spaces (ARCA di santARCAngelo).
The foundation is especially committed to accessibility and educational projects for children, young people of all ages, and their families. It supports the development of local artistic and curatorial projects, fosters dialogue with institutions and businesses to strengthen cooperation between cultural and entrepreneurial entities, and shapes its content with a global perspective. This allows it to enhance its heritage and services while working in synergy with a community rich in creative energy.
